Happy New Year Eve

Today is the last day of 2012... and I must say good riddance. I had some blessings this year but it really did end on a sour note for me. I am confident that 2013 will be MUCH better. Have you seen the Spring colors for 2013? Bright and more bright :) We are invited to go to a friends house but I am not really feeling like being around people this year. I am thinking trying to find the money for an intimate dinner and movie.What are your plans for New Years Eve?

2013 is going to be a year of purging negative things and I WILL lose this last 30 lbs. I have decided that I need to work on my self discipline for 2013 and that is the best place to start (so I think) :) May you have a safe and happy New Year's Eve. See ya next year :)

Color Combo



I really like pairing pink and red together. Of course, I absolutely loves those little red shoes :) I have been trying to research the color trends for 2013 and it looks like bright colors are in for the next year. I love bright colors except I am not a  huge fan of the color of blue. I do wear it occasionally but nothing I gravitate towards, like yellow and oranges. What color combos are you looking forward to wearing in 2013?



Back in the Routines

I so needed a break from school and now we are back in the swing of working. I have one more week of not going to school and you wanna hear something funny....I am bored. I do not know what to do with myself - I do know that I do NOT want to do anything productive. :) So how is that wishy washy - I guess for 2013 I am aspiring to be a wasteland :) I sure hope I can make to March when I will be officially finished and the proud owner of a MBA. I don't know why with all the blesses that have been bestowed on me that I continually wallow in my misery....

I totally love this blouse that I found a few years ago at Ross and these slacks make me feel hip and cool - almost like those cool 70's chics...Do you have clothes that make you feel that way?

The Aftermath

Whew, we made it through another holiday. Today we are getting our first snow in Tennessee, I have the great fortune of not having to drive in it today because I'm working from home for PT later this afternoon. I must admit I never did get the holiday spirit but we had dinner at my g-ma and was supposed to have breakfast at my mothers but she cancelled. Both of my brothers were in town and it was nice to see both of them, I wish I had been in better spirits. I did however wanted to share with you couple of couple of things that did brighten my spirits and was touched by the thoughtfulness:

I first saw these on The Pioneer Woman  and showed them to my daughter. She surprised me with them and I was thrilled. I love them so much that I it took me a few times of baking before I actually used them.

My friend Kristine surprised me with these goodies. I love chai tea latte and this was absolutely delicious. The perfect way to spend my days off for the holiday. Oh and she also let me borrow Witches of East End by Melissa de la Cruz - thumbs up - I must get the other books to finish up

He wasn't exactly a Christmas present but he makes me smile nonetheless - our newest member - Gizmo - I must tell you that I do no think Heathen is impressed by him.

I also did some baking for gifts - forgot to take pictures but I did find this recipe and the taste was great Coffee Swirl Cake I don't like coffee but it was pretty good. Mine did not turn out that pretty as my bundt pan is flat - I must get me a prettier one. I also made a Foolproof fudge and it turned out really well and of course my banana bread and the chocolate peanut butter bars I made a few weeks back. How was your Christmas? My Friday

Today is my Friday - I cannot tell you how much this time off is values. I also have break from school for two weeks - I don't return to work until next Wednesday - YAHHHHH I plan to veg out on the couch as much as possible and watch HGTV and cooking shows. I have just discovered Chop - I love it!! My daughter found out she is having a baby boy :) She is so excited and I am so happy for her and must admit I am starting to get excited as well. Her theme for the nursery today, after changing a couple of times, Lion King. I never got to have a nursery so I am excited to watch her decorate.

I am still fighting the blues but in a better place - I think my 40's suck - at least I'm blaming my age on my blues at the moment. One more week until Christmas, bah on a positive note I love the way this outfit turned out. I have always been a suit kinda girl - I think they look neat and polished but I like to mix and match and add something not polished. The scarf gives it the unique flare I desire and the peep of red made me feel good in this outfit. Hope your week is going well.

Daughter's Wedding

My daughter's elopement with a wedding feel was beautiful - she was beautiful

 Borrowed the jewelry from Kristine - went perfectly!!

 We found this jacket at Marshall's for $30 - it went PERFECTLY with the dress - we got the dress and hair accessories at David's Bridal for $172 -

He arranged for a limo to pick them up - they honeymooned in Key West

I'm also going to be a grandmother in May
